Christine Ann Lahti is an American actress and filmmaker. Born on April 4, 1950, she has had a successful career in both film and television. Lahti received critical acclaim for her role in the 1984 film Swing Shift, earning a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Some of her notable film roles include ...And Justice for All (1979), Housekeeping (1987), Running on Empty (1988), Leaving Normal (1992), and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019). In addition to her work in film, Lahti has also appeared on Broadway, starring in productions such as Loose Ends (1980), Present Laughter (1982), and The Heidi Chronicles (1989). She has been nominated for multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, winning both for her role in the TV movie No Place Like Home (1989) and the CBS series Chicago Hope (1995–99) respectively.
