Christopher Eccleston Biography
Christopher Eccleston (born 16 February 1964) is an English actor known for his work in television and film. He gained recognition for his roles in the BBC series Doctor Who (2005) as the ninth incarnation of the Doctor and as Matt Jamison in The Leftovers (2014–2017). Eccleston has been nominated for two BAFTA Awards and won for his performances in Our Friends in the North (1996) and The Second Coming (2003). He has collaborated with directors Danny Boyle and Michael Winterbottom. Eccleston made his acting debut in theater and has appeared in various stage productions.
