Christopher Kennedy Lawford (March 29, 1955 – September 4, 2018) was an American author, actor, and activist. He was a member of the prominent Kennedy family, being the son of English actor Peter Lawford and Patricia 'Pat' Kennedy Lawford, sister of President John F. Kennedy. Lawford graduated from Tufts University in 1977 and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College in 1983. While struggling with addiction for 17 years, he transitioned into acting, appearing in various movies and television shows over a span of 20 years. Lawford also authored several books on addiction and recovery, drawing from his personal experiences. Additionally, he traveled across the United States, sharing his experiences with addiction and advocating for public health through collaborations with organizations like the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and the U.S. federal government.
