Christopher Maher

Christopher Maher (born 1955), originally known as Maher Boutros, is an American film and television actor, as well as a chef. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Maher's family relocated to Toronto in the 1960s. He studied acting at the University of Toronto and later at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. Maher gained prominence with his role as assassin Colonel Hashim on the soap opera Another World. In 1982, he moved to Los Angeles and changed his name to Christopher Maher to avoid typecasting. He has since appeared in various feature films and television shows, including Taxi, Hill Street Blues, Law and Order, 24, The West Wing, and NCIS. Maher also starred alongside Gena Rowlands in the film Olive.
