Christopher McDonald (born February 15, 1955) is an American film, television, theatre, and voice actor. He is best known for his role as the villainous professional golfer Shooter McGavin in the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore. McDonald has also appeared in notable films such as Grease 2 (1982), Thelma & Louise (1991), Requiem for a Dream (2000), and The House Bunny (2008). He has lent his voice to characters such as Jor-El in Superman: The Animated Series (1996), Kent Mansley in The Iron Giant (1999), and Harvey Dent in Beware the Batman (2014). McDonald has also been a series regular on TV shows including Walter & Emily (1991–1992), Good Advice (1993–1994), and Family Law (1999).
