    Christopher Thornton (born March 29, 1967) is an American actor known for his role as Kenny 'Shammy' Shamberg in Magnum P.I. He has appeared in numerous film and television roles since 1990. Thornton was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and began his acting career in local theater while studying theater at the University of New Orleans. He later moved to Los Angeles to train at the Stella Adler Conservatory. Thornton made his film debut in the 1990 horror sequel Watchers II and continued to work in theater during the 1990s. Despite a tragic accident in 1992 that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Thornton has continued his acting career and was cast as Hamlet in 2000.
