Claire Malis Biography
Claire Malis (February 17, 1943 – August 24, 2012), also credited as Claire Malis Callaway, was an American actress. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Dr. Dorian Lord on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live from 1977 to 1979. Malis also appeared as Dr. Anne Brewster in the 1980 television series From Here to Eternity. In addition to her TV work, she made appearances in various drama and comedy series, as well as multiple films. Notably, she played Rose Polniaczek, the mother of Jo, in six episodes of the NBC sitcom The Facts of Life. Malis battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma but successfully recovered through a stem cell transplant. She passed away from congestive heart failure and pneumonia at the age of 69.
