Clara Peller Biography
Clara Peller (August 4, 1902 – August 11, 1987) was a Russian-born American manicurist and television personality, best known for her role in the 1984 'Where's the beef?' advertising campaign for Wendy's. Born in Imperial Russia, Clara spent most of her early life in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a manicurist for 35 years at a local beauty salon before moving to the North Shore area to be closer to her daughter. At the age of 80, Peller was hired by the Dancer Fitzgerald Sample advertising agency to star in the popular Wendy's commercial. Clara Peller never remarried and passed away at the age of 85.
