    Cliff Simon (7 September 1962 – 9 March 2021) was a South African actor best known for his role as Ba'al in Stargate SG-1. Born in Johannesburg, Simon showed talent in swimming and gymnastics from a young age. Despite aiming to become the first South African swimmer to win an Olympic gold medal, he eventually shifted his focus to acting. Simon attended Sandringham Primary School and Sandringham High School in Johannesburg before his parents decided to emigrate to the United Kingdom in 1975. He continued his schooling in the UK and was chosen to swim on the British international squad. Simon's acting career included appearances in various TV shows and films, but his most notable role was Ba'al in the popular science fiction series Stargate SG-1.
