Clifton Powell (born March 16, 1956) is an American actor known for his supporting roles in films. He gained recognition for his role in Ray (2004), which earned him an NAACP Image Award nomination. Powell has appeared in over one hundred films since the 1980s, including Menace II Society (1993), Dead Presidents (1995), Rush Hour (1998), and Friday After Next (2002). He also portrayed Martin Luther King Jr. in the television film Selma, Lord, Selma (1999). Powell has had recurring roles on Roc, South Central, and Army Wives, and has made guest appearances on various TV shows such as In the Heat of the Night and NYPD Blue.
