Coleman Cruz Hughes is an American writer, podcast host, and public intellectual. Born on February 25, 1996, Hughes is of African American and Puerto Rican descent. He grew up in Montclair, New Jersey, and graduated from Newark Academy. In 2020, Hughes obtained a B.A. in philosophy from Columbia University. As a fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research and a contributing editor at their City Journal, he has delved into various topics of societal importance. Hughes is best known as the host of the podcast Conversations with Coleman. Notably, he testified before a U.S. House Judiciary subcommittee on reparations for slavery, advocating against it to foster unity and focus on addressing contemporary challenges impacting the black community.
