Colin Stinton is a Canadian-American actor, born on March 10, 1947. He has gained recognition for his collaborations with playwright and filmmaker David Mamet. Stinton has established a notable presence in the United Kingdom since 1985. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada but moved to the United States in 1952. Stinton attended Northern Illinois University, where he participated in various campus productions. He was a member of the Dinglefest Theatre Company, which later became The Theatre Building in Chicago. Stinton spent time in New York from 1978 to 1985, during which he received a Theatre World Award for his role in Mamet's play, Edmond.
