Concetta Tomei

Concetta Tomei is an American theatre, film, and television character actress. She was born on December 30, 1945, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After earning a degree in education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Tomei decided to pursue her love of theatre and attended the Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago. She then moved to Houston and worked for the Alley Theatre before settling in New York City. Tomei is best known for her roles as Major Lila Garreau on the ABC series China Beach (1988–1991) and as Lynda Hansen on the NBC series Providence (1999–2002). She has also appeared in pioneering Off-Broadway productions and worked with Kevin Kline in the New York Shakespeare Festival's production of Hamlet.
