Conleth Hill is a Northern Irish actor, born on November 24, 1964, in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He has had an extensive career on stage, performing in various productions in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the US. Hill is a recipient of two Laurence Olivier Awards and has been nominated for two Tony Awards. However, he is best known for his role as Varys in the HBO series Game of Thrones, which aired from 2011 to 2019. Hill's family is also involved in the entertainment industry, with his older brother working as a cameraman, his sister as a producer, and his younger brother, Ronan, being a sound engineer who has won four Emmy Awards for his work on Game of Thrones. Hill completed his acting program at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1989 and made his Broadway debut in Marie Jones' Stones in His Pockets. He has also appeared in a television adaptation as the German professor Max Staefel.
