Conrad Coates is a British-born Canadian actor and teacher. He was born on July 12, 1970, in London, England, to Jamaican immigrants. Coates moved to Canada at a young age and received his education there. He began his acting career in local and regional theaters and later joined the Stratford Festival, where he performed in Shakespearean plays. Coates has since appeared in over 40 stage productions across Canada. He is best known for his roles as Morgan in The Dresden Files and as Jimmy Brooks' father in Degrassi: The Next Generation. Coates has also worked in Canadian and American television, and has expanded his career to include writing, producing, teaching, and mentoring.
