Corey Reynolds Biography
Corey Reynolds (born July 3, 1974) is an American actor known for originating the role of Seaweed in the Broadway adaptation of Hairspray, and for his role in the TNT crime show The Closer. Raised in Richmond, Virginia, Reynolds attended Monacan High School before pursuing his acting career in California. He began his acting journey at Paramount Kings Dominion and later landed roles in touring productions of Smokey Joe's Cafe and Saturday Night Fever. In New York City, he auditioned for various shows and eventually secured the role of Seaweed in Hairspray. Reynolds received nominations for a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for his outstanding performance. Prior to The Closer, he guest-starred in Without a Trace and appeared in The Guardian. Reynolds utilized his previous career in security to research his role in The Closer.
