Cynthia McFadden is an American television journalist, born on May 27, 1956, in Lewiston, Maine. She is currently the senior legal and investigative correspondent for NBC News. McFadden was with ABC News from 1994 to 2014, where she co-anchored Nightline and occasionally appeared on ABC News special Primetime. In March 2014, she joined NBC News. Prior to her career in journalism, McFadden graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Bowdoin College in 1978. She later earned her Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School in 1984. Before joining ABC News, she served as the executive producer of Fred Friendly's Media and Society seminars. McFadden has made significant contributions in the field of legal reporting and investigative journalism.
