Cynthia Rowley

Cynthia Rowley (born July 29, 1958) is an American fashion designer based in New York City. Born and raised in Barrington, Illinois, she is the daughter of Ed Rowley, a former science teacher, and Clementine, a painter. Rowley discovered her passion for fashion at a young age and made her first dress at seven years old. She graduated from Barrington High School and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1988. In 1981, Rowley moved to New York City with a fellowship award and started her career with $3,000 in seed money. She has since established herself as a renowned designer in the fashion industry.
