Dale Earnhardt Biography
Ralph Dale Earnhardt (April 29, 1951 – February 18, 2001) was an American professional stock car driver and racing team owner. He competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now called the NASCAR Cup Series) from 1975 to 2001, driving primarily for Richard Childress Racing in the No.3 Chevrolet. Known for his aggressive driving style, Earnhardt earned nicknames such as 'the Intimidator', 'the Man in Black', and 'Ironhead'. He is considered one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. Throughout his career, he won a total of 76 Winston Cup races, including four Winston 500s and the 1998 Daytona 500.
