Damon Gupton (born January 4, 1973) is an American actor and orchestral conductor. He is best known for his series regular roles on Deadline, Prime Suspect, The Divide, The Player, Black Lightning, and Criminal Minds. Gupton has also co-starred in the films The Last Airbender, Whiplash, and La La Land. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he attended the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. Gupton furthered his education at the Juilliard School in New York, specializing in drama. He has also studied conducting at the Aspen Music Festival and School and the National Conducting Institute in Washington, D.C.
