Dan Savage Biography
Dan Savage is an American author, media pundit, journalist, and LGBT community activist. He is best known for writing Savage Love, a widely syndicated relationship and sex advice column. Born on October 7, 1964, in Chicago, Savage attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting. After living in West Berlin from 1988 to 1990, he relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, where he became friends with Tim Keck, co-founder of The Onion. When Keck moved to Seattle, Savage followed and became an advice columnist for The Stranger, a role that launched his career. Apart from his writing, Savage is also known for starting the It Gets Better Project in 2010, aimed at preventing suicide among LGBT youth.
