Danica Sue Patrick (born March 25, 1982) is an American former professional racing driver. She is best known for her career in American open-wheel car racing, where she became the most successful woman in the history of the sport. Patrick achieved her greatest success in the IndyCar Series, winning the 2008 Indy Japan 300 race, making her the only woman to win an IndyCar Series race. Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, Patrick began karting at a young age and quickly rose to prominence, winning multiple championships in the mid-1990s. She later competed in various racing series, including Formula Vauxhall, Formula Ford, and the Toyota Atlantic Series, before making her mark in IndyCar racing.
