Daniel Hugh Kelly is an American stage, film, and television actor, born on August 10, 1952, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He is best known for his role as ex-con Mark 'Skid' McCormick on the 1980s ABC TV series Hardcastle and McCormick (1983–1986), where he co-starred with Brian Keith. Kelly comes from a family with a law enforcement background, as his grandfather and father were police officers/detectives, while his mother worked as a social worker. He graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 1970 and went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from Catholic University. Kelly has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions, primarily at The Public Theater and Second Stage Theatre, and has been part of various regional repertory theaters.
