Daniel von Bargen Biography
Daniel von Bargen (June 5, 1950 – March 1, 2015) was an American character actor of film, stage, and television. Known for his roles as Mr. Kruger on Seinfeld, Commandant Edwin Spangler on Malcolm in the Middle, and Chief Grady in Super Troopers, von Bargen had a diverse career. He was born in Cincinnati and grew up there before moving to Southern California. He graduated from Purdue University in Indiana. Von Bargen made his television debut in 1974 in the play Feasting with Panthers on PBS's Great Performances. His film credits include The Silence of the Lambs, Basic Instinct, Truman, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? among others.
