Daniela Vega

Daniela Vega Hernández is a Chilean actress and mezzo-soprano singer, born on June 3, 1989, in San Miguel, Santiago Province. She gained recognition for her critically acclaimed performance in the 2017 Academy Award-winning film A Fantastic Woman. Vega made history at the 90th Academy Awards in 2018 as the first transgender person to present at the ceremony. Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in the same year. Vega's passion for opera began at a young age, studying with her grandmother. Despite facing bullying during her time at an all-boys school, Vega found support from her family as she transitioned. She has been open about her experiences with depression.
