Danielle Deadwyler (born May 3, 1982) is an American actress known for her work on both stage and screen. She started her career in Atlanta, appearing in various stage productions, including the 2009 production of For Colored Girls. In 2012, Deadwyler made her screen debut in the drama film A Cross to Bear. She gained recognition for her roles in TV series such as The Haves and the Have Nots (2015–2017), P-Valley (2020), and miniseries like Station Eleven (2021–2022) and From Scratch (2022). Deadwyler's performances in The Harder They Fall (2021) and Till (2022), where she portrayed Mamie Till, received critical acclaim and earned her several nominations and awards. Deadwyler was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Grady High School.
