Danny Breen

Danny Breen (born c. 1962) is a Canadian politician and the current mayor of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He was elected in the 2017 municipal election and acclaimed in the 2021 municipal election. Before serving as mayor, Breen represented Ward 1 on St. John's City Council from 2009 to 2017. In 2014, he ran as a Progressive Conservative candidate for the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the Virginia Waters electoral district but was defeated. Breen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
