Darrell Clayton Hammond (born October 8, 1955) is an American actor, comedian, impressionist, and announcer. He is best known for his work on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (SNL). Hammond was a regular cast member on SNL from 1995 to 2009 and holds the record for the most appearances on the show, second only to Kenan Thompson. He is known for his impressive impersonations, with his portrayal of Bill Clinton being his most notable. In 2014, Hammond became the new announcer for SNL after the passing of Don Pardo. Born in Melbourne, Florida, Hammond has faced personal struggles with depression and substance abuse throughout his life.
