Dat Phan Biography
Dat Phan (born January 25, 1975) is a Vietnamese-American stand-up comedian. He gained popularity in 2003 as the winner of Season 1 of Last Comic Standing, defeating runner-up Ralphie May. In Fall 2004, he returned for the third season in a special battle between contestants from season 1 and season 2, but he and May were eliminated in the fifth round. Phan was born in Saigon and immigrated to the United States with his mother and nine siblings. Growing up in San Diego, California, he faced financial hardships. Phan dropped out of Grossmont College to pursue comedy and later won a spot in Grossmont College's Walk of Fame.
