Dave Hill

Dave Hill, born David John Hill on April 4, 1946, is an English rock musician best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band Slade. Hill has been the sole continuous member of the band throughout its history. Known for his flamboyant stage clothes and hairstyle, Hill was born in Holbeton, Devon, and later moved to Wolverhampton. He attended Springdale Junior School and Highfields Secondary school. Hill's musical journey began when he bought his first guitar from a mail-order catalogue and received lessons from a science teacher. He formed the band The Young Ones and later joined The N' Betweens, which eventually transformed into Slade.
