David Bailey Biography
David Royston Bailey (born 2 January 1938) is an English photographer and director. He is best known for his fashion photography and portraiture, and his influential role in shaping the image of the Swinging Sixties. Born in Leytonstone, Bailey developed a passion for natural history which eventually led him to pursue a career in photography. Despite facing challenges due to undiagnosed dyslexia and dyspraxia, Bailey left school at the age of fifteen to work as a copy boy at the Yorkshire Post. Over the years, he established himself as a prominent figure in the photography industry, capturing iconic images of celebrities and contributing to numerous fashion magazines.
