    David Cromer Biography
    David Cromer is an American theatre director, and stage, film, and TV actor, born on October 17, 1964. He has gained recognition for his work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in Chicago. Cromer has won the Lucille Lortel Award and Obie Award for directing Our Town and received nominations for the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for directing The Adding Machine. In 2018, he won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for The Band's Visit. Cromer was raised in Skokie, Illinois, and dropped out of high school before later acquiring a GED and attending Columbia College Chicago. He has also been nominated for or won the Joseph Jefferson Award for his work in Chicago productions.
