David Michael Hasselhoff, born on July 17, 1952, is an American actor, singer, and television personality. He gained recognition for his role as Dr. Snapper Foster on The Young and The Restless from 1975 to 1982. Hasselhoff's career skyrocketed with his iconic portrayal of Michael Knight on Knight Rider from 1982 to 1986 and as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on Baywatch from 1989 to 2000. He also produced Baywatch during the 1990s. Hasselhoff holds a Guinness World Record for being the most watched man on TV. In addition to his television work, he has appeared in films like Dodgeball, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Click, Hop, and Piranha 3DD. Hasselhoff was the first actor to portray Marvel Comics character Nick Fury in the telefilm Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. He also made his Broadway debut in the musical Jekyll & Hyde in 2000.
