David Huddleston (September 17, 1930 – August 2, 2016) was an American actor known for his prolific television career and appearances in various films. He was born in Vinton, Virginia to Ismay Hope and Lewis Melvin Huddleston. Huddleston attended Fork Union Military Academy before serving as an officer in the United States Air Force. He then pursued his acting education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Huddleston's notable film credits include Rio Lobo, Blazing Saddles, Crime Busters, Santa Claus: The Movie, and The Big Lebowski, where he played memorable roles. He received an Emmy Award nomination during his successful career in television.
