David Hyde Pierce (born April 3, 1959) is an American actor known for his roles on stage and screen. He gained recognition for his portrayal of psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane on the sitcom Frasier from 1993 to 2004, for which he received four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Pierce also won a Tony Award for his performance as Lieutenant Frank Cioffi in the musical Curtains. Throughout his career, he has appeared in films including Crossing Delancey, The Fisher King, Sleepless in Seattle, Wolf, Nixon, Down with Love, The Perfect Host, and Wet Hot American Summer.
