David Johansen

David Johansen is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born on January 9, 1950, in Staten Island, New York. Johansen gained fame as the lead singer of the influential proto-punk band, the New York Dolls, in the early 1970s. The band released two albums, 'New York Dolls' (1973) and 'Too Much Too Soon' (1974). Johansen later adopted the pseudonym Buster Poindexter and achieved success with the hit song 'Hot Hot Hot.' He is also known for his acting career, including his role as the Ghost of Christmas Past in the film 'Scrooged.' Johansen's diverse talents have made him a respected figure in the music and entertainment industry.
