David Leisure is an American actor, known for his roles as Charley Dietz in the sitcom Empty Nest and as Joe Isuzu in a series of North American television commercials for Isuzu. He was born on November 16, 1950, in San Diego and later attended San Diego State University. After graduating, Leisure moved to Los Angeles and landed his first acting job in the film Airplane! (1980). He gained recognition as a commercial pitchman, including a memorable role as Joe Isuzu, where he became known for his ability to deliver over-the-top claims and obvious lies about Isuzu cars. With his success in commercials and television, Leisure has established himself as a versatile actor in the industry.
