David Morrissey Biography
David Morrissey is an English actor and filmmaker known for his meticulous preparation and versatile performances. Born on June 21, 1964, Morrissey made his screen acting debut in the drama series One Summer in 1983. He received training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre for four years. Standing at 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) tall with a distinctive voice, he initially played authority figures such as policemen and soldiers. However, he broke this trend with standout roles in Our Mutual Friend (1998) and Hilary and Jackie (1998). Morrissey has also appeared in films like Some Voices (2000) and Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001). Notably, he portrayed Stephen Collins in State of Play (2003), receiving critical acclaim.
