David Oakes

David Oakes is a British actor known for his roles in popular TV series such as The Pillars of the Earth, The Borgias, The White Queen, Victoria, and Vikings: Valhalla. He was born on October 14, 1983, in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and grew up in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. Oakes attended Bishop Wordsworth's School in Salisbury and later graduated with a First in English Literature from the University of Manchester. He further honed his acting skills at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 2007. Oakes began his career at Shakespeare's Globe and has since performed at the Almeida Theatre and the Old Vic. He also hosts a discursive Natural History podcast called Trees A Crowd.
