David Olusoga
David Olusoga is a British historian, writer, broadcaster, presenter, and film-maker. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, in January 1970, Olusoga migrated to the UK at a young age and grew up in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. He faced racial discrimination as one of the few non-white residents on a council estate, with his house being attacked by the National Front. Olusoga studied history of slavery at the University of Liverpool and graduated with a BA (Hons) History degree in 1994. He later completed a postgraduate course in broadcast journalism at Leeds Trinity University. Olusoga has presented various historical documentaries on the BBC and contributed to The One Show and The Guardian. He currently holds the position of Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester.
