David Sutcliffe (born June 8, 1969) is a Canadian retired actor. He is best known for his roles as Christopher Hayden on the television series Gilmore Girls and Detective Aidan Black on the television series Cracked. Sutcliffe was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and raised in Grimsby and St. Catharines, Ontario. He studied English literature at Victoria College in the University of Toronto. Despite being recruited for varsity basketball, he had to give up the sport due to a herniated disk diagnosis. Sutcliffe has appeared in various television shows, including Cold Feet, I'm with Her, Private Practice, and Proof. His film credits include Cake, Testosterone, Under the Tuscan Sun, and Misconceptions.
