David Zucker
David Samuel Zucker (born October 16, 1947) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in parody comedies, including the critically successful film Airplane! in 1980, which he directed and wrote. Zucker is also the creator of The Naked Gun franchise and has directed films such as Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4. Some of his notable movies include The Kentucky Fried Movie in 1977, Ruthless People in 1986, The Naked Gun in 1988, and BASEketball in 1998. Zucker co-directed films like Airplane! and Top Secret! with his brother Jerry and Jim Abrahams, forming the ZAZ team of directors. He has collaborated with Pat Proft and Craig Mazin on various projects.
