Dawnn Lewis

Dawnn Jewel Lewis is an American actress best known for her role as Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor on the NBC sitcom A Different World. She portrayed Robin Dumars on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and appeared in the film I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Born on August 13, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York City, Lewis began singing at four and acting at eleven. She graduated from the High School of Music & Art and majored in musical theatre in college. Lewis has since appeared in numerous TV series and stage performances.
