De'Adre Danielle Aziza is an American actress and singer. She was born on June 14, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. Aziza's mother, Donna Avery, is a retired part-time assistant professor and textiles specialist. She attended the Harlem School of the Arts for eleven years and the Dance Theater of Harlem for five. Aziza is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her roles in Passing Strange. Aziza also appeared on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
