    Dean Andrews is an English actor known for his role as DS Ray Carling in the BBC drama series Life on Mars and its sequel Ashes to Ashes. He was born on August 6, 1963, in Rotherham. Andrews attended Sitwell Junior School and Oakwood Comprehensive School, where he was classmates with Top Gear presenter James May. Before his acting career, he worked as an entertainer and singer on cruise ships. Andrews gained recognition for his role as Barry Shiel in the BAFTA-winning drama series Buried. He has also appeared in other notable shows such as Wire in the Blood, True Dare Kiss, and The Street. Currently, he portrays Will Taylor on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
