Deanne Bray is an American actress born on May 14, 1971 in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, California. Bray is bilingual in American Sign Language and English, as she was born deaf. She spent most of her life in southern California and attended Washington State School for the Deaf for grade 8. Bray's parents ensured she learned to speak and write English, as well as American Sign Language, by sending her through various language programs and centers. After being discovered performing with a deaf dancing group called 'Prism West' at a Deaf festival, she entered the entertainment industry. Bray holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge.
