Debbie Stabenow
Deborah Ann Greer Stabenow, known as Debbie Stabenow, is an American politician and the senior United States senator from Michigan. Born on April 29, 1950, she has been serving in the Senate since her election in 2000, becoming the state's first female U.S. senator. Prior to her Senate career, Stabenow represented Michigan's 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2001. She also served on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and in the Michigan State Legislature. Stabenow has been reelected to the Senate in 2006, 2012, and 2018. She currently chairs the Senate Agriculture Committee and is the dean of the Michigan congressional delegation.
