Deborah Van Valkenburgh (born August 29, 1952) is an American actress known for her roles in film and television. She gained recognition for her screen debut as Mercy in the 1979 cult film 'The Warriors'. Van Valkenburgh also portrayed Jackie Rush in the television sitcom 'Too Close for Comfort' for five seasons from 1980 to 1985. In 2012, she received the Best Supporting Actress in a Fantasy Film award at the PollyGrind Underground Film Festival for her performance in 'Road to Hell'. Prior to her acting career, Van Valkenburgh graduated from Shaker High School and earned a BFA in Painting & Drawing from Pratt Institute. She started her acting career on Broadway and has appeared in numerous Off-Broadway plays as well.
