She has appeared in numerous Broadway productions and earned three Tony Award nominations for Best Actress in a Musical. Hoty's notable Broadway appearances include The Will Rogers Follies (1991), The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public (1994), and Footloose (1999). Originally from Lakewood, Ohio, Hoty discovered her passion for musical theatre during high school and went on to study it as her college major at Otterbein College. She moved to New York City in 1977 to pursue her acting career. Hoty has made a significant contribution to the theatre industry with her impressive talent and performances.
