Denis Lawson Biography
Denis Stamper Lawson, born on September 27, 1947, is a Scottish actor and director. He gained recognition for his portrayals of John Jarndyce in the BBC's adaptation of Bleak House and Gordon Urquhart in the film Local Hero. Lawson also appeared as Retired DI Steve McAndrew in BBC One's New Tricks and Kit Curran in The Kit Curran Radio Show. He is best known for his role as Wedge Antilles in the original Star Wars trilogy and reprised the character in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Born in Glasgow and raised in Crieff, Lawson attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Prior to his acting career, he worked as a carpet salesman and participated in amateur theatre.
